This has been an Amazing week with Austin!
Sorry I have not been good at keeping this blog up to date but I am currently writing from Eastern Europe after having spent the week meeting, playing and cuddling with Austin! I wish I could share his pictures but hopefully soon he will be home and everyone can meet the beautiful boy I met this week.
Austin is actually in foster care right now (turns out he has been there since about September) and he is doing well! He has had limited progress since my last updates in June however he is overall healthy! He is not walking or talking but has the cutest giggle in the world (I might be a little bias😉). We were able to spend hours with him each day and he loved playing and listening to me read to him! He does hate pictures and can turn an ear splitting grin into a full pout with lip out in a split second when he sees a camera.
I've been asked many times why international adoption? Well as those who know me know I have always wanted to adopt and I felt God was calling me to Reeces rainbows. From there I saw Austin and I just knew! As I have learned more and more about international adoption I have learned the good and the bad, I began to meet great people and hear amazing success stories! However I also saw how there are so many children left alone and starving, who need a family! I never let myself think too much about my boy being there! But he was and my tiny little guy turned 2 in November but he is wearing 9 month clothes. His foster mom said she almost cried when she got him because of how little. She is working with him and he will be home soon! I know my mission field is Austin right now bringing him home and being the best mother I can be to him but my heart still aches for those in orphanages waiting for their mothers and fathers to find them! I am not big on travel it takes me so far from my comfort zone but I would walk a thousand miles to bring my boy home! maybe someday we will come back for a brother or sister for Austin 😉!
